Using .edu .gov .org to find more-credible sources for your research
REMEMBER: There are three domains on the Internet that contain content more appropriate for academic research:
.edu results contain information coming from educational institutions.
.gov results' information comes from governmental agencies.
.org results' information comes from non-profit / charitable organizations (though some business advertisers slip into this category as well, so you have to use your judgement with these).

How do you limit your searches to .edu, .gov, and .org?
You do so by creating a search request that is written like this: search term site:gov
So, an example might be: sea level rise site:gov
When you look at a results-list for that search in Google, you see that most** of its results come from the .gov domain (which is only given out to agencies connected to the government).
**You will find a few results coming from other sites that manage to "sneak in" occasionally.
