Course Reserves for Students

EFSC professors may place textbooks or other course materials on reserve for their students.  Materials may belong to the library, or they may come from the instructor’s personal collection.

Most reserve materials are intended for Library Use Only.  However, loan periods may vary and are at the discretion of the instructor.

Course reserve materials can be checked out to currently enrolled EFSC and UCF students, faculty and staff.

Materials are located behind the Circulation Desk at each campus library.

Materials on reserve may include:

  • ·     Textbooks
  • ·     Test Prep Guides
  • ·     Films
  • ·     Style Manuals

Students must leave their driver’s license or government-issued photo identification at the Circulation Desk to use any course reserve materials designated as Library Use Only.

Please note: Current textbooks are not purchased in accordance with EFSC Libraries Collection Development and Management Policy.

Course Reserves for Faculty

Faculty may place library or personal materials on reserve for student use at any campus library.

The procedure for placing items on Reserve:

  • Complete a Reserve Materials Request Form. The form can be printed from the website or picked up at any campus library Circulation Desk.

  • Fill out form completely and select a checkout period. Options include: Library Use Only, One Day, One Week, etc.

  • Sign and return form to any campus library Circulation Desk with the materials to be placed on reserve.

  • Allow at least 24 hours after submitting a Reserve Materials Request Form before assigning reserve materials to a class.

  • Instruct students to go to their campus library Circulation Desk to request reserve items. They will need to have an EFSC Photo ID to use reserve materials. Overdue fines are incurred for late returns and vary by item.

Textbooks: Current textbooks are not purchased by the EFSC Libraries. Faculty wishing to place textbooks on reserve should supply a copy of the textbook and complete the Textbooks On Reserve Form.
