Curriculum Builder for EFSC Faculty

Learn the nuts and bolts of Curriculum Builder here.

Curriculum Builder is Going Away

Curriculum Builder (CB) is ending on Sept. 30, 2021.

This is happening because the Library will have a new Integrated Library System (ILS) starting July 13, 2021.  That new system, called Alma, is not compatible with Curriculum Builder, and that is why CB is going away.

Unfortunately, there is not a replacement software within the new ILS that will take the place of CB.

Instead of using the CB software, our statewide consortium FALSC recommends using permalinks in your Canvas modules to create the Reading Lists you have for your students.

The box below has some information about creating permalinks.

If you need more help, please contact your liaison librarian.

Permalinks Q&A

What is a permalink?

It is a direct URL that remains stable over time and allows users to get to the item again at a future research session.

What are some other names for permalinks?

Permanent links, persistent links, stable links, durable links, or direct URL.

How can I use permalinks in my teaching?

You can use permalinks to share articles, eBook chapters, images, or videos with your students.

Use them in your Canvas classroom, in PowerPoints, syllabi, email, or web pages.

Why can't I just copy the web address or URL that appears in the address bar of my web browser?

It contains session-based information that will cause the URL to fail in a subsequent's day's / different computer's search session.
