I have been an educator for fifteen years now. I was a high school English teacher the majority of that time. At EFSC I have been a student, an instructor, and currently a writing tutor. As a student, I have taken a variety of classes, but the most notable were in the education department where I started my journey to becoming an educator. As an instructor, I have taught developmental reading and writing and a variety of education courses. Currently as a tutor, I help students with all steps in the writing process. The bulk of my work is with students in Communications and Humanities courses, but I have helped students in any class that has them reading and writing. Other examples include medical based classes, economics, business, classes that require capstones, or any other class which requires writing.
