The Office of Undergraduate Research at Eastern Florida State College is adjacent to the Library in room 103, building 2 of the Melbourne Campus. OUR exists to promote research on the undergraduate level and offer EFSC students the opportunity to present their findings at the Florida Undergraduate Research Conference (FURC) or similar events.
A research conference is an academic event where researchers present their research projects and learn from each other. Participation in a research conference is a great opportunity to enhance presentation skills, network with peers, and learn about research in difference disciplines. Other researchers and the general public have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the individual projects.
A research poster is a visual representation of a research project. The poster is a story board to help viewers learn the research title, student's name, and faculty research mentor, along with specific information to explain the purpose and results of the project in an easy-to-follow format. Specifications for the poster are listed on the next tab of your LibGuide.
Your poster presentation presents an opportunity to talk about your research and learn to see your research through the lens of other experts and non-experts. By interacting with others, you may think of new answers to your research. You may also surprise yourself by asking new questions!
